Walking Elbe River Trail
Our Elbe River Trail follows one of the Europe's mightiest rivers. From its source in the Giant Mountains (Krkonose National Park) it flows down through Bohemia becoming the biggest Czech river, named the Labe. Entering Germany through a breathtaking landscape of Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland National Park the river changes its name to the Elbe. There the steep-sided sandstone rock formations invite you to visit the shady valleys, and can be a symbolical gate to the German land of Saxony on your way from Prague to Dresden.

 Apart from immense natural beauties spread around the Elbe River valley, the route gives you a chance to encounter not so known, yet appealling places of various kind. The only wine region of Bohemia centered around Melnik town or gloomy walls of the former Jewish ghetto and WWII concentration camp in Terezin, they all show how the history has marked this fertile land.
